Research and Planning: EVALUATION OF COLLEGE MAGAZINE

Evaluation of my College Magazine

What Went Well
I thought the magazine overall looks very professional. I like the colour scheme of the magazine of red and light blue. These are the colours of the college logo and I think they work well together. I like the main image on the front because it is big, bright and fills the whole page.

I like the basic fonts that I used on the front cover because it does not make it look too crowded. I downloaded the fonts from Da Font.

Improvements
The background colour looks a bit too bright and if I was to change it, it would be a different colour that was included in the logo. I don't really like the red banner along the bottom because it sticks out too much. The black font for the main cover line does not really stand out as much because it is bold, black on a strange colour (green & grey). The picture was also taken on an iPhone camera and was not a very good quality when zoomed in closely.

How I did it
I used Photoshop to create this magazine cover. I used all of the codes and conventions of a typical magazine including masthead, cover lines, main cover line, barcode, issue number, date, main image, sub image and plug. I aimed my cover lines at students of the college including things I think they would like to read about.

I met the brief of the task with this cover because it is aimed at college students and contains all the codes & conventions of a typical magazine.
