Research and Planning: WEATHER

I am planning to take my photos on Tuesday for the front cover. I have had a look at what the weather is supposed to be like on Tuesday and it is not looking good - a weather warning has been issued!

Therefore, I am going to take my photos in the college studio. If these do not turn out brilliant, I will take some photos outdoors possibly on Wednesday because that is the day where the weather is supposed to be the best.

Research and Planning: HOW AM I PROGRESSING?

Today, I sent some images of my double page spread and contents page to some of my friends through Facebook and asked them for some strengths and weaknesses from the work.

I received the following comments:
Strength - The article and the contents of the magazine looks like it would be worth paying for - there is plenty on there.
Weakness - It is lacking a bit in colour so maybe make some more colours stand out or add a background colour.

Following this feedback, I will now implement these changes.

Research and Planning: UPDATE

Today's lesson I have not done anything on my magazine. I have been working hard to make sure everything is on my blog. I may do some more on my magazine later on today.

Research and Planning: FRONT COVER SO FAR

I have had a look at my front cover and it is not as bad as I actually thought. Really, it only needs a picture and then I will be able to play around with it and if needs be, change the fonts and colours etc.

I am going to get the pictures as soon as possible. 

Overall, I think I am not doing too bad and should be coming near the end in the next couple of weeks.

I have taken some inspiration from this front cover whilst planning the layout of the front cover. I want a main cover line which will take up the majority of the space on there and then have some other cover lines down the left hand side of the front cover in a smaller font.

Research and Planning: CHANGES TO CONTENTS PAGE

I have moved things around on my contents page and changed the positioning of some of the features because of the 1cm border all around the edge.

I am now going to focus lots on my front cover. I will next take some pictures of my model for the front cover. I will then mess about with changing things around.

Research and Planning: CHANGES TO DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD

I have made the changes to my double page spread and feel it is now near completion. I am a bit unsure what to add to the bottom though and may add photos or another quote although there is one of these at the top.

I have changed the size and brightness of the image and moved the title so that it does not overlap with the picture.

Research and Planning: MAJOR IMPROVEMENTS TO DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD

After receiving some very helpful feedback from my media tutors, I have made some drastic changes to my double page spread of my music magazine. I have changed the font to a serif font which makes it easier to read. I have used the guide lines in Photoshop to help me plan an outline. All of the text will need to be inside here so that they do not get cut off when the magazine is printed.

In the space which I now have on the right hand side, I am going to add some more text. My introduction paragraph is going to be made bold and a larger font and I will add some more content to this. Following some feedback from other people, I need to change the positioning of the picture because you cannot read all of the writing in my headline. Therefore, I will make my models feet come off the page.

I will complete the remainder of this amendments and publish this early next week and then begin to look at sorting out the front cover.

Research and Planning: PROGRESS OF CONTENTS PAGE

This is my progress so far for my contents page. I think this is almost done now but I may make some changes in the coming weeks. 

As you can see, the bottom image is from Billboard which is a magazine which is based on the genre of my magazine. I have adapted a similar feature with the latest charts list on the side of the contents page and splashes of colour.

I will now focus on my front cover which needs a bit of work doing on it.
